Angel Tree
This is the 10th year that Trendway Corporation employees pulled together to make Christmas a happy one for local children in foster care.
The county FIA (Family Independence Agency) provides first names and ages of those children in foster care without anyone to provide for them at Christmas, along with a list of their wished-for gifts. This year, employees participated in fund-raising events including raffles, a bake sale, a chili cook-off, jeans days for the office and more. In the end, hundreds of hand-wrapped gifts of love have been delivered to the FIA for distribution to forty-seven children before Christmas.
In keeping with their strong tradition of community support, Trendway is the only organization that supports foster children in Ottawa County in this way. The Angel Tree Benefit has become a favorite holiday tradition among the employees.
In addition to its annual support of Angel Tree, Trendway has been recognized by the American Cancer Society for its fund-raising efforts in support of Hope Lodge Grand Rapids. The company’s employees also host an annual Cruise-In event to benefit families facing serious financial challenges as the result of a family member’s health problems. To date this annual event has raised more than $160,000 to assist families from the greater West Michigan area.
